I wanted to make the second bedroom into a formal dining room. The door measures 29 and I don’t know how to read a tape measure but 2 lines after 29 inches. Under the table from where the legs are measures out to 11 inches. Do you think that I could fit this table in the bedroom?

Used to be every time my husband or I took a shower it would rain in the basement. We waited forever to have it fixed because we thought “oh, no, they’re going to have to take out a wall, and it’s going to be expensive” & my husband & I both got laid off in May. We recently had a plumbing emergency & while the plumber was here he took a look & told us it was not a pipe leaking, it was from all the cracks in the grout between the tiles on the shower walls. He said all we needed to do was caulk up the cracks & it would quit leaking into the basement.

Well, I spent 5 hours in there the other day caulking the cracks (and I’m totally anal, so it looks gorgeous if I do say so myself, haha). It worked, too, since it no longer rains in our basement when we shower. However, now when we shower there’s 2 inches of water on the bathroom floor. What’s up with that? Obviously my caulking the cracks in the grout caused it because it never happened before, but why? What can I do to make it stop?
It’s a shower curtain, and no, it was not left outside of the tub. My husband leaves it out sometimes, but I always go into the bathroom & fix it about a minute after he gets in the shower. It drives me nuts!

Can you do your own addition to your house if you take responsibility as the general contractor of your home and get all the permits? Can I hire a subcontractor? If I do does he have to be licensed? All my electricians and plumbers are licensed in Chicago but does my subcontractor have to be as well? Let me know for 10 POINTS! thanks
