justme asked:

We have a well, but no water softener hooked up. Copper pipes, house built in the 70’s…no leaks that I can see anywhere in the house. Both hot and cold are affected, every faucet and spout. It happened slowly over the course of 15 minutes (while I was in the shower, of course), going from normal to trickle. It is barely dripping now. Everything was fine yesterday. Please help…I have two kids and little money to spend on a plumber coming out to try to figure it out on his /her time. Dishes and laundry pile up fast…
Wow, everyone is so helpful….

Just went down to the pump; it sounds normal and in on. On a whim, on the way back inside, I checked the outside faucet on the side of the house. It is working fine! Is this a water filter problem maybe? I thought I just changed it…but maybe not…

name asked:

The bathroom faucet is leaking (badly now), and he took a look at it and says I will need to replace the entire faucet. to the point where the pipes reach the shut off switches (at the bottom of the sink).

I have called the faucet manufacturer for the warranty and they are sending me new parts saying that I do not need to replace the entire faucet.

Anyone have any suggestions? Please help!

brighton boiler repair

private_eyes asked:

I rented out a apartment back in December and I have called maintenance over 20 times about different issues with the apartment from toilets being backed up, to overflowing, sinks being clogged, garbage disposal leakage, etc. Now I have new neighbors upstairs and everytime they use there garbage disposal whatever they are disposing comes up in my sink! Maintenance came about a week ago and put something down the drain but that didnt do anything. Last night I contacted emergency maintenance and told him they needed to do something b/c now my sink is stopped up full of water and someone else dinner and I was told that wasn’t consider an emergency and he would contact a plumber but no one never showed up. Would I be allowed to break my lease w/ no penalty in a situation like this? b/c Im getting sick and tired of dealing with issues w/ this apt.!

i need to replace Cast iron pipe?

Kaela G asked:

I’ve read most of the aswers to this similar question. I have some experience with plumbing just need a little guidence on this one. The problem is there is about a 2 ft ***** in the underside of my waste line. It’s about 8ft away from where it exits the house.I know it can be quick fixed but I want to replace it with pvc. My dad had redone our bathroom years b4 and replaced it with pvc. from that point to were the ***** is less than 16ft, thats bends and such. That part is the easy part. I know hiring a plumber is expensive, specially if it’s somethin i can do myself. I have the tools just need the guidence. My dad past several years so Me and my family help with a lot of repairs in the house. I Learn quick and Have done more than My share of tough jobs so im not worried bout the work just need more info on how to do it. thanks to anyone who understand this jumble (It’s been a long day.)
also is using a snap cutter or soil cutter better than any of the other tools recommended. hacksaw ect….. Is it safer too.
