I have seen on TV where lizards, snakes, and other critters are getting into toilets through the sewer/plumbing line. It would seem like there should be some sort of backflow valve to keep sewage and critters from coming into the house. Is it normal for things like this to take place in a 5 year old home that was a new construction? There are no mature trees around that would have broken a line or anything like that. Is there anything that can be done so that we do not have more visitors in the toilets that are not frequently used? Or even worse, before they decide to explore further into our home?

I’m almost 24yrs old, and I am still a sophmore in college. When I was 19yrsold and wanted to move out of the nest, my family talked me into buying a condo instead. Since then, I have been miserable in my tiny 1bedroom “condo” with high bills, especially for someone who was 19yrs at that time. I was forced to work fulltime to pay my mortgage, car, all bills etc, with absolutely no help from anyone else. For the past….over a year now, I have wanted to move. I am so down, and it is a horrible time to sell, so I can’t sell it. I would like to find a roommate and share something bigger, for cheaper. I have racked up considerable debt too. I have had multiple plumbing pipes burst, general plumbing problems, needed a new washer/microwave, and also had to have my air conditioning unit serviced a few times…..and not to mention my car repairs on top of all that! I have about 10k in debt. I am also trying to pay for college myself.

Owning a “condo” (which is really an apartment that I own)….has been nothing but a nightmare. I am full of resentment for my family ever helping me get into this mess. I **** my life. And I feel like I’ve missed out on a lot, like my college days, and carefree days. I was always stuck working full time, and putting all my money towards a DREAM that wasn’t mine.

What do you think? What should I do? I don’t want this responsibility of owning anymore. I just want to move far away!!!!!!!!!!!!! And make my own decisions in life :( I feel so stuck and unhappy. None of this “owning” and living on my own has been worth it to me…AT ALL.

The red light is flashing on the hot water indicator (D.H.W Demand Indicator) for my boiler which is a Worcester 24 cdi. The Hot water and the central heating are both not working. Any advice of what checks i could make before calling out for a plumber ?

Thanks
