Wet spot under the floor?

jw asked:

I have a large wet spot in one of the upstairs bedrooms that will not dry . I think I have a leak under the floor . The bedroom sits over a inhouse garage with a finished roof . Can I repair this myself ??? I dont have funds for a plumber
The ceiling is garage is wet Could a pipe be burst and is spraying upwards ??

brady t asked:

that connects to the plumbing in the bathroom…. this is within the wall structure…. There was a ***** and a water leak which caused stains on the ceiling below,,,,

who is responsible for the repairs???

Tenant simply used the shower for its normal purpose and couldn’t have caused damage to this internal structure fixture…

So why is the landlord deducting from my security deposit…
do i have a legitimate small court claim???

This broken bathtub trap piping cracked through normal wear and tear,,, so the landlord should be responsible for repairing….
to any answers which say whether I notified the landlord… the broken trap piping is inside the wall and the landlord was notified by the tenant below about water stains on the ceiling….. I found out about the ***** from the land lord…….

brighton boilers

John L asked:

For the last 2 weeks water may run cold after a 15 minute shower, now it just gave out completely. Has a “991″ error – Burning Error. It is getting gas, and water, I’ve tried cleaning the filter and resetting the unit. It always comes back to the “991″ error. Any suggestions? I am hesitant to contact them for warranty repair because they say in the manual that it will not be covered unless installed by a licensed plunber, but it was installed by a unlicensed plumber. I’m pretty sure the problem is not related to the installation.

unapproved condo charges?

Condotroubles asked:

I just purchase a condo in Virginia. It turns out the drainage pipe for all the units above mine had a hole letting water run out into my unit. I finally got the condo accociation/developer to realize what the problem was. They contacted a plumber to come repair the problem. Now the condo association forwarded a letter with the plumbers invoice saying I own them money because the plumber replaced the trap in my condo.

I never approved or asked that the trap be replaced. It seems to be that they are filing a false claim for uncontracted labor. They are threating to put a lien on the property if I do not pay.

Is this fair or legal?

Thanks!
