There is currently no shut off valve just for the sink, is this necessary to have? I have copper plumbing and just bought a new moen faucet that has two copper tubes for the hook-ups. It seems easy to install, but should I place a shut off valve before installation? I am not that handy and thought that if I tried this it may cause more damage and hassle than what its worth. Please advise.

I work at an answering service and one of our accounts is this guy who only fixes air conditioners and heating units in trailer homes. He yelled at me today over something that wasn’t even my fault. In the back of my mind I thought ‘Oh well! You cater to white trash, you loser.’ and it made me feel better. What would you think in this situation?

I have been living here for 6 years and in the last 2 to 3 years the tub/shower has lost about half it’s tiles. They are still laying in the tub. The roof leaks in my dining room, causing plaster and water to drop whenever it rains. The basement steps are wood and some have become unsafe. All these things my landlord is aware of and I have been asking when they will be fixed. I usually get either a ” yes we will get to it this week” or “we have to wait on the plumber or roofer”. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone been through this and if so, how do I handle it??????????????

It looks as though the pressure goes up to between 5 & 10%. All of my radiators get hot (steam heat) but it takes awhile. I have the adjustable valves on most of them. One plumber said I’ll only get another 7% from a new gas boiler, another one said he doubts that it is at 77%, and a new one would give me close to 90% efficiency. My house is buttoned up and I have new replacement windows, an adjustable thermostat, etc. I’m pretty conservative with the temperature. The house was built in 1927 and it is about 1700 sq.ft.
