salieri.mozart asked:

A plumber installed a toilet for me in October. Recently it started leaking, he fixed it and then charged me $76 to repair what should have been fixed in the first place! I refused to pay him and he left angry.
They said the warranty is up after 90 days!
I don’t know what to do, should I pay him and then file a complaint with the state or BBB, or should I wait on paying him and file the complaint?
I live in Florida.
Thanks for any help!
The plumber explained that to repair the leak he had to add a washer and bigger bolts to prevent the leak. Shouldn’t they have put them in at installation?

Plumbing Problem Major?

haileyc30 asked:

pipe sags underneath my townhouse. results in horrible drainage. home ownders association refuses to pay because the problem starts underneath my unit. plumber quoted me 13k to repair it. Does anyone know of any other way to repair the problem, other than to digup the floor and re-route the pipe. Who would be responsable to pay for the work.

We installed a wet bar sink about a year ago. Just tonight I noticed it has a slight leak. I narrowed it down to 2 connection points, and I repaired one of them. However, it’s still leaking, and after looking at it further it definitely looks to be coming from where the valve shutoff connects to the pvc pipe. I’m afraid it may be beyond my abilities so I was wondering how much I may expect a plumber to charge me to come out and repair it? I just don’t want to be taken to the cleaners for what really looks to be a simple repair.
Or, if you have any tips that I may try myself I’m open to that, too. I have plenty of plumbers putty and tape. I appreciate your input on this.

Blocked solenoid valve on washing machine.

swissmama2be asked:

My tenant reports a “clanking noise” when the washer fills. She reports that it goes away when she runs the tap. My normal plumber says its a blocked solenoid; won’t touch it and says I should call an appliance repair company.
A couple of questions:
Approximate repair cost?
Normal wear and tear or other cause? The washer is 3.5 years old and was problem-free and only ever used by me prior to a few months ago.

Any recommendations for an appliance repair company? The property is in San Diego, CA.
