What is the starting wage in the UK?

If I, a foreigner went to London or, Sussex, Essex and wanted to work there for a while, would the basic starting wage cover food, clothing, and living costs? Or definitely not…?

Legal minimum wage is £6.00 per hour for young people – depends what you would want to do. Wouldn’t cover central London accom, tube travel, attractions,entertainment,food etc ….. unless you were very very very frugal – thousands have to manage on it but I guess they don;t get out much!
