How do I loosen a stiff ball valve handle?

I recently bought a 2″ PCV ball valve adapter thing to connect two pipes. This is not for plumbing purposes, but I’m making a potato cannon for a project, so are there any methods to make it easier to turn? IN THIS CASE, A STIFF HANDLE IS NOT GOOD.

Spraying silicone or any other lubricant doesn’t really help.
A 2″ PVC valve isn’t thought of as a coupler or connector, it is a shut off. Don’t rush your project give what you do a second look over as you build, shrapnel from plastic is a bad thing.
