Is a thermostatic mixer shower or electric better for combi boiler sytem with low pressure?

I intended to fit a thermostatic mixer shower with my new combi boiler heating system. However, the plumber has advised me that the water pressure I have is so low that the water flow would be poor and that for a more enjoyable shower an electric shower would be better. Is this correct? I have sought advice from various plumbers who all give different advice. Please help.

Hi UK plumber here, Your plumber is correct in that if you have a poor flow of water due to low pressure then the mixer will struggle to produce enough water at the head of the shower. Also if some one uses the WC etc. this will reduce the flow further. You are always safe with an electric or even gas shower and if the overall water pressure is low you can always add a header tank to the electric shower. My advice go electric…..Good luck.
no matter what type of heating sstem you i would always recommend fitting an electric shower because if you heating system fails at least you still have some form of washing i am a corgi registered enginner and every housse i’ve had i’ve always fitted an electric shower because of this(yes even engineers heating breaks down)
It sounds as though you need a “tankless” system. Please contact your local power company and ask them which would be best/most cost-effective for your area:
Also, speak with your neighbors and get advice from them. See what works or doesn’t work for them. If you can get two or more neighbors to buy the same system, you may get a break in price.
