Water heating pipe leaking inside wall?
Noticed water leaking through the wall where the hot water out pipe enters into the wall from the water heater. looks like it is leaking from the elbow of the copper pipe right where it goes down into the wall. Now i have to tear out the drywall to replace the elbow and then repair the drywall. Does anybody have a clue how much this would cost to repair? (if I hire a plumber) Thanks

not sure but if have to tear open wall and fix pipe your home owners may cover if no under your deductible
the plumber will tear out the dry wall but probably not replace it , as for cost just to replace the ellbow probably a little over $100 as long as its not a off hours call,
The last one I called charged me $65 just to get out of the truck. Actually my leak was exactly as you describe and the total was $194.00. I got ripped. And I still had to replace the drywall myself. You sound like you know enough about what you’re doing to pull it off to me. If I were you I’d just **** up the fact that it will be time consuming and a pain in the *ss and do it myself. I replaced every copper water pipe in my house after that myself, with PVC. I was a first timer, it all WORKED and it cost me under $600. I was thrilled. Keep your money in your pocket where it belongs. Finding a good, reliable plumber this day in age who’s honest and won’t rip you off is WAY too much hassle and gets WAY too expensive.
sheet rocks easy fixing the pip is easy to just make sure the waters out or the solder wont take you can do it
